Vintage Hardback Landmark Cloth cover book with Dust Jacket and Author Letter. Book itself is in Excellent to Like New condition with a tight binding and clean crisp pages. Book appears to be unread and unused! Outside cloth covers are very nice! The Author letter is in Near Mint condition with the original trifold. Dust Jacket is in Very Good Plus condition with the only issue being a small amount of edge chipping at the top of the outside spine. Dust Jacket is now covered by a new clear mylar cover. It would be hard to find a nicer looking copy of this 77 year old book! Obviously this book has just been stored somewhere as it does not even have the expected issues as if it has been sitting on a shelf for 70+ years! Book has come from a private collection. Landmark Books and World Landmark Books are accurate, in-depth stories for young people in the 9-15 year old range. These living histories were written by award-winning authors or by men and women who experienced the events first hand. Written during the 1950's and 1960's and illustrated either with two-color drawings or clear photographs, the books are informative, enjoyable, and well worth reading and collecting.

It looks like it was originally owned by Yankton College in Yankton, South Dakota and then it became part of the "Margaret M. Murray Collection of the Easter Library at Clearwater Christian College. So it has several college markings, but shows no signs of ever having been checked out. I would imagine this would have been part of the College's Reading collection for Elementary Education majors. Outside pictorial covers are nice with library markings on the bottom of the outside spine and the bottom left hand corner area of the front cover. A nice book!
