The Mysterious Voyage of Captain Kidd #122 Landmark RARE, A. B. C. Whipple
1 The Mysterious Voyage of Captain Kidd #122 Landmark RARE
A. B. C. Whipple Random House Childrens Books (Lib) 1970-06-01 0394904222 / 9780394904221 Hardcover Very Good Hardcover H. B. Vestal
OK, I don't need to tell you how RARE this title is and how difficult it is to find it to complete your Landmark collection! This is the last book in the wonderful Landmark series! Hardback Pictorial Cover Book is in Good Plus condition with a tight binding and mostly clean crisp pages with a few marks. Inside text is in Very Good condition. This is an ex-school library book with the expected library markings, but they are not excessive. There is a small library stamp at the bottom of the first blank end page with the same stamp inside the back cover near the bottom. A pocket or sticker appears to have been removed from the last blank end page. On the first and last blank end pages there are some old tape remnants, which I am going to assume held a clear cover over the book at some time. There is NO library marking on the outside spine. Outside Pictorial covers show some minor soiling and some wear to the outside corners and edges. Those tape remnants are also lightly visible on the front and back cover. There is No Dust Jacket, as this title was not issued with a Dust Jacket. Tough book to find! Landmark Books and World Landmark Books are accurate, in-depth stories for young people in the 9-15 year old range. These living histories were written by award-winning authors or by men and women who experienced the events first hand. Written during the 1950's and 1960's and illustrated either with two-color drawings or clear photographs, the books are informative, enjoyable, and well worth reading and collecting.

World Landmark Book #11. In 1095, the world was very different from our world today. For those were the days when knights rode forth to battle in heavy armor, and miitary might determined all things. In that year Peter the Hermit led thousands of men, women, and children in a march to Jerusalem to rescue the Holy Lands from the Moslems. Each of his followers wore a cross as a sign of membership in what was called the First Crusade. In the next 200 years, millions of Europeans headed toward Jerusalem on a series of crusades. Some of the Crusaders kept journals from which we can piece together the full story of there adventures. In the Crusades, Anthony West recounts the extraordinary events of those expeditions. A classic in a wonderful series!
